Announcing MOC of the Month

We’re honouring the best MOCs posted by our members every month with our new MOC of the Month gong. So if you’ve a LEGO creation, share it on the forum’s Members’ Creations board and once there its in the running for the next MOC of the Month and MOTM runner-ups awards. Cool bricks.

What’s a MOC?

A MOC stands for ‘My Own Creation’, so, if you have made a creation or a LEGO model out of your mind, not using instructions, you’ve made a MOC.

How it works

Each month the 7-member Judging Panel will select a MOC of the Month winner and 2 runner-ups. Points will be awarded to members as follows: three (3) points for the winning MOC and one (1) point for each of the two runner-up MOCs. Members can see who is winning by viewing the MOTM League Table.

Prizes

We’ll be giving away a free LEGO sealed Box Set at the end of the calendar year to the top 2 members who have amassed the most MOC of the Month points. The two sets up for grabs are the CITY Fun in the park Set 60134 (Eur 39.99 RRP) and the Star Wars Rey’s Speeder 75099 (Eur 26.99 RRP). Member with the most MOTM points can have first pick.

Competition Month

A competition month is a calendar month eg 1 January to 31 January and so on.

Rules? Rules? Are there any rules?

Rules schumles. Well these are all we’ve thought of.

Your MOC cannot have been posted on the community’s Members’ Creations board before and must be your own creation or a significantly modified version of a LEGO set. You can post photos of the MOC as brick-built or in LEGO Digital Designer (LDD) or equivalent form. Your MOC does not have to be a recent build mind you, if you have built it previously but never shared it with the community its all good.

Members can post multiple MOCs for consideration and can win both the MOTM and runner-up MOC awards for any given month.

Where the judging panel’s casted votes for MOTM or runner-up MOCs are tied, the judge nominated as that month’s decision-baton shall solely decide the result. If the nominated decision-baton has built one of the MOCs that tied, the decision-baton is passed to the next applicable judge.

Members of the Judging Panel cannot vote for one of their own MOCs.

Following the end of the calendar year the December MOTM will be announced and the final League Table shall be updated determining the final points tallies for members. The top two will be awarded prizes. Where members are tied on points, the member with the most MOTM wins will be selected. In the event members are tied on both points and MOTM wins the judging panel will hold a separate vote to pick a winner.
