Solving the minifig housing crisis in my city has resulted in the use of relatively cheap parts to build pretty ugly high rise flats. 

Oxymoron or not, here's a case in point.

I started this in Feb so you could say the long delays to complete construction somewhat mirror real-life scenarios.

Yes, some careless fig did spill a bucket of orange paint but in a careful rectangularish way...




This Chinese has seen better days...




Sadly most of these retail units have shut down because of another MOC in the works...

LEGO, apparently powered by Allinol, whatever that is...




Pop off the chimneys to access the insides but trust me you wouldn't want to...

Great MOC David.  What are you using ffor the roller doors?  Is the broken bottle a custom part?  And you obviously don't watch enough Cars movies if you don't know about Allinol ;-)

The roller doors are Technic axles, I think size 9 if I remember correctly.

The broken bottle is a custom part, either from BrickArms or BrickForge I think. Got it quite sometime ago so cannot remember which guys but I have used both these a few times.

I have to admit I am not a fan of Cars...

They look great as door shuttering.  Must remember that one.

As for Cars movies, after the first couple of 100 times, they grow on you ..... thankfully we have the Lego ones now instead -:)
