Anyone doing advent calendars?, We've got 4 on the go and a playmobile one, H.P was a gift? to my Wife (She wants to do it) and I've got a half \half of 2017\2018 plus S.W 2018 and this year's city one ,they're not worth the prices initially but 21Euro and under is acceptable. The previous calendars make up my winter scene....and it's obviously pretty bleak

Have a Harry Potter one for the kids that they take it in turns to open a city one for myself. First year I’ve got to open one!

My 8 year old is doing the City one.
My 4 year old is doing the Friends one from last year. (I got it on sale for about €12).  She knows no different so happy days!
I have the HP one but haven’t started it yet!  My 8 year old is fairly unhappy with the City one as there’s not much building so far. On the other hand last years Friends one is really good (decorations for the tree like rocking reindeer, fireside, love heart).

The more I get them the less impressed I'm getting but I guess for the size and scale there's not much can be done. We're using last year's S.W and city. The fun value is opening the surprise unless you've seen them online before.

4 advent calendars to burn pockets ,smyths showing OOS , I'm eyeing Harry Potter and if I can dwindle it the city one. I am a SW fan but more mini repetitions don't grab me - Baby Yoda -whisper in my ear He could!

Decorations going up preLateLate Toyshow , so previous advent calendars need a playground and space for the 2 we've got this year, calling all winter villagers

The elves are camped out on my city calendar but there's 2 HP -last years(got later than the start) and this year's , at this stage it's not a spoiler- beaubatons ship and a  fireplace that spits out letters , the pieces are obviously small and very few but nice if you don't intend on keeping them as intended(which I do)

Today's HP calendar revealed a 1x3 box for wands and a 1x3 jumperplate  and a book ,not a lot of stuff -items for shopping for Hogwarts school. The box would be required in multiple to fill out a shop but I'm fawning over it to the extent that it's removed from general population.

I know the summer's still here and it's sinful to mention the end of year holiday but the advent calendars are on view on brickset and lego.com, they're not over priced but maybe piece count is where the catch is! They look good and the SW one is tempting but I can't see it going low as they hold well on price, I'll try the city one for the animals and the hamleys guy

The city one has some nice figs but it's so so for the models ,and the fire today is really meh! When it's time to put away this wonderful decoration the unimpressive ones get to re-live in general population. The Harry Potter one is yielding some great minibuilds and figs, today 20th was the Weasleys home-the burrow!

The Harry Potter calendars are my hopefully best minifig resourse, Yes I'll have a harry-a-year but the decoration and door opening excitement are outstanding value ,I'd prefer the Star Wars but that price issue is offputting , maybe  next year I'll stump up
